- October 2008: EE newsletter begins over email
- December 17-19, 2008: EE at Midwest Clinic, Chicago, IL
- January 30, 2009: Competition recordings & application due
- February 6, 2009: Essay Contest entries due
- February 25, 2009: 15 finalists announced/Competition adjudication sheets mailed
- February 26, 2009: EE Regional Festival - University of North Carolina, Chapel Hilll
- March and April 2009: Workshops in finalists' schools
- March 11, 2009: EE Regional Festival - Temple University, Philadelphia, PA
- March 28, 2009: EE Regional Festival - Greenwich, CT
- March 31, 2009: Comments only recordings & application due
- April 18, 2009: EE Regional Festival - Michigan State University, Lansing, MI
- May 8-10, 2009: Competition & Festival in New York City!
- By May 29, 2009: Comments returned on recordings submitted for comments only
- June/July 2009: Jazz at Lincoln Center Band Director Academy (Date and location TBA in December 2008)
